Current Collaborative Projects

  • Friday’s Kids Respite

Friday’s Kids Respite is a nonprofit organization in Utah County that provides free respite care to families of children with disabilities. Every Friday night (and some Saturdays!), volunteers, nurses and supervisors tend children of all ages while their parents or caretakers have the evening off.  Kids On the Move is pleased to support Friday’s Kids by providing 2 of their 3 locations for services and to have their office at our Orem facility.

  • Canary Garden

Canary Garden is a nonprofit organization providing support for children and adolescents who are grieving the death of a family member. The weekly support groups for all ages offer a safe, comfortable environment. By sharing their grief experiences with other young people, children and teenagers are better able to resolve their grief and move forward in the healing process. Kids On the Move is honored to host Canary Garden groups weekly at our Orem center.

  • Sibshops of Utah County

Sibshops is a collaborative Utah County project to support children 7 to 13 years of age who have a sibling with disability, chronic illness, or mental health concern.  Sibshops take place at the Kids On the Move Orem center on the 2nd Saturday of each month.  In addition, Kids On the Move provides significant staff support for each activity.  Valued partners in making Sibshops an ongoing success include the BYU Department of Counseling and Psychology and Allies With Families.

  • United Way of Utah County

United Way of Utah County mobilizes the caring power of Utah County communities to advance the common good. In 2008, United Way initiated a 10-year program to (1) improve education and cut the number of high school dropouts; (2) help families achieve financial stability and economic independence; and (3) promote healthy lives and reduce risky behaviors. Kids On the Move is proud to be a United Way Agency.

  • Partners for Infants and Children

Partners for Infants and Children is a Utah County council that improves access for parents to quality early childhood services and gives parents greater information in addressing the social and emotional development of their young children. Kids On the Move has been a contributing partner of this council and its many projects, including Help Me Grow, over the years.

  • Orem City Public Library

The Kids On the Move Noorda Resource Center is a joint project with the Orem City Public Library. Our specialty collection is available to the general public on the Orem City Library on-line catalog. All community members may visit and use the library free of charge.
